Make sure that applying for financial aid is part of your overall college application process. Penn State recommends that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1 to receive maximum consideration for all types of student aid. The FAFSA is available online beginning October 1 each year. Those students who submit their FAFSA by December 1 will receive their financial aid packages beginning mid-February.
