Many scholarships and awards at Penn State Schuylkill are available due to the generosity of friends and alumni who have provided the funds to establish and maintain them.
As part of the admission process, students are automatically considered for financial aid. To be eligible for consideration for scholarships that require a demonstrated financial need, the student must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with Penn State. There is no additional application needed.
Barnes & Noble Award
The purpose of this award shall be to honor and recognize outstanding achievement by an incoming freshman who is enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, with a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and consideration of their SAT score. The minimum amount of this award of $1,000.
James & Edna Beach Renaissance Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance to promising full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
Dr. Irving M. Bonawitz Award
The purpose of this award shall be to honor and recognize superlative achievement by an undergraduate student who is intending to enroll in Accounting at Penn State Schuylkill. If no students intending to enroll in Accounting are eligible, consideration may be given to students intending to enroll in Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or Astronomy.

To provide recognition and financial assistance to academically talented students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
Dr. Michael and Barbara Cardamone Renaissance Scholarship at Penn State Schuylkill
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who have achieved outstanding academic records or who manifest promise of academic success and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds necessary to meet their college expenses.

This scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students with a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or higher who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill.

Consideration for scholarships from this fund shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who are participating in an internship opportunity. First preference is given to students participating in unpaid internships within Schuylkill County.

To provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who lack the financial resources to meet their basic college expenses and live in the borough of Frackville, Pennsylvania.
R. Michael Fryer Memorial Scholarship
To provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding business administration students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill Campus who has a proven need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
Joseph S. Gera Engineering Scholarship at Penn State Schuylkill
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State Schuylkill. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time sophomore undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State Schuylkill, who are pursuing a degree in engineering, and who have achieved a grade point average of at least a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) at the end of their first year of studies.
Dr. Kimberly Hashin and Atty. Albert Evans Scholarship at Penn State Schuylkill
The purpose of the scholarship is to help support the development of qualified professionals in both the legal and medical fields. The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in criminal justice, biology, or nursing, with a home address of record located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

First preference shall be given to students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences.
Roy & Deborah Heim Family Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who demonstrate significant financial need but do not qualify for federal grants. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who intend to pursue a degree in engineering. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference.

The purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich Penn State Schuylkill by providing monies to enhance the academic environment for faculty improvement and student scholarship by supporting their ability to respond to academic challenges and opportunities to cultivate knowledge and learning.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill and planning to pursue a degree in education. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who are planning to pursue a degree in education.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products major in the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences, at The Pennsylvania State University who has a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Wood Products major in the School of Forest Resources, College of Agricultural Sciences; have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; have a demonstrated financial need; and are residents of Pennsylvania. Preference shall be given to incoming freshman students from Sunbury or Ringtown, Pennsylvania, which are communities in which a JELD-WEN facility is located.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. First preference shall be given to all advanced standing/transfer students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who are graduates of a high school in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, or Carbon County, Pennsylvania. The term “advanced standing/transfer students” shall not include students transferring from another campus of the University.
Joseph H. Jones Sr. and Grace H. Jones Family Scholarship in memory of Gregory H. Jones
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students whose home address of record is in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and who demonstrate significant financial need but do not qualify for federal grants. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, available funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference.
Robert Kevy Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and whose address-of-record is Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. First preference shall be given equally to students majoring in Information Sciences and Technology or Engineering who have graduated from Pottsville Area High School, Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Second preference shall be given equally to students majoring in Information Sciences and Technology or Engineering who have graduated from a high school in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Theodore & Mildred Kantner Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to academically qualified students of average ability who are attending Penn State Schuylkill and plan to continue their education at Penn State Harrisburg, The Capital College, and who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. The recipient shall be an academically qualified student of average ability and have a proven financial need. It is the intent of the donors that the scholarship continues to the student while attending Penn State Harrisburg, The Capital College, provided that the student continues to meet the other eligibility requirements. If Penn State Schuylkill should cease to exist, consideration shall be given to students from the Penn State Schuylkill service area, who attend any campus of the University with first preference to students attending Penn State Harrisburg, The Capital College.
Baynard D. & Ethel M. Kunkel Scholarship
To recognize and assist outstanding undergraduate students enrolled at the various Commonwealth campuses of The Pennsylvania State University who have a need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. Other criteria for scholarship consideration shall be:
a. Good citizenship and evidence of leadership as demonstrated by membership in and offices held in local civic and community groups. Also, to be taken into consideration is contributions to the University and community and/or recognition by a church, civic or community groups and service organizations.
b. Professional promise as demonstrated by academic standing and membership in professional honorary societies or in an academic honors program or other evidence of professional aptitude as applicable.
c. In addition, the selection committee in its personal interview with scholarship candidates shall look for evidence of mature judgment, patriotism, and loyalty.
M & T Bank Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing or other business-related fields who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
Fred & Elizabeth Miller and Family Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who demonstrate academic promise and/or who are in good academic standing. First preference shall be given to students who graduated from Nativity B.V.M. High School in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Second preference shall be given to students whose home address of record is in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference shall be given to students from Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
Mishpacha Weiss Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to academically capable undergraduate students attending Penn State Schuylkill, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled in engineering or information sciences and technology majors at Penn State Schuylkill who are academically capable and who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
David and Vicky Norris Business Internship Award
The purpose of this award shall be to honor and recognize an undergraduate student majoring in business at Penn State Schuylkill who is fulfilling educational and professional objectives through participation in an internship.

To provide recognition and financial assistance to academically talented students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Penn State Schuylkill campus, who have a proven need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Schuylkill Campus of The Pennsylvania State University, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who has graduated from either Shenandoah Valley Junior/Senior High School in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania; Mahanoy Area High School in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania; or North Schuylkill Junior/Senior High School in Ashland, Pennsylvania. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student in the Penn State Schuylkill, Penn State Hazleton, or Penn State University Park eligibility pool, regardless of preference.

Second preference shall be given to students who reside in Schuylkill County.
Robert F. Weiss Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in or planning to major in engineering at Penn State Schuylkill and whose home address of record is in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll, at Penn State Schuylkill who are majoring in, or planning to major in, a degree program focuses in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (also known as STEM).

The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance for undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill and who are participating in the pilot programs. The pilot programs have been designed to keep students on track to their degrees and the University will give priority to students with the highest level of financial need.
Patrick M. Jones and Karen Weiss Jones Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or plan to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill, or successor academic unit.
Wylonis Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to incoming freshman undergraduate students at Penn State Schuylkill who are planning to major in a STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) degree and who have demonstrated financial need. The student must have a high school GPA of at least 3.2 (on a scale of 4.0). First preference will be given to students who graduated from North Schuylkill High School in Ashland, Pennsylvania, and who have demonstrated leadership or entrepreneurship. If no students meet the first preference, second preference would be given to a student who graduated from a high school in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania who has demonstrated leadership or entrepreneurship. This scholarship award is equivalent to approximately one-half of the cost of in-state tuition. This scholarship will be awarded for one academic year and shall be renewed for subsequent years, providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available. This scholarship is intended to be awarded to a student for up to four academic years and the recipient may continue to receive this scholarship if the recipient transfers to Penn State University Park to complete their four-year degree. While at University Park, the student would also receive an award to cover one-half of the cost of standard double occupancy housing expenses in addition to the one-half of the cost of in-state tuition. Upon acceptance to Penn State Schuylkill, an application will be available for students to complete, followed by an interview in the spring.
Wylonis STEM Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding freshman undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll, at Penn State Schuylkill who are majoring in or planning to major in, a degree program that focuses on science, technology, engineering or mathematics (also known as STEM).
YES Scholarship
Penn State Schuylkill offers YES (Your Employability Skills) Program graduates a one-time scholarship. Students who enroll for 12 or more credits are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship (divided equally between the fall and spring semesters). Students who enroll for 6-11 credits are eligible for a $500 scholarship (divided equally between fall and spring semesters).
Zuber Family STEM Scholarship
The purpose of this endowment shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll, at Penn State Schuylkill who are majoring in, or planning to major in, a degree program that focuses on science, technology, engineering or mathematics (also known as STEM).
