You are considered an international student if you require any type of visa to attend Penn State. This includes students living inside and outside of the United States. International students, both first-year and transfer, have different admissions requirements they must meet.

All international first-year applicants to Penn State must submit the following as part of a complete application:

  • Your Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) from your last three years of work, plus your in-progress courses for the current academic year;
  • Your official standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) directly from the testing service;
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if your native language is not English);
  • Your completed web application, through either MyPennState or the Common App.
  • All first-year applicants are required to submit the SRAR, except students studying in the South Korean educational system. Students in a South Korean educational system must submit official transcripts from their last three years of work before we will consider their application complete.

For more information about admissions requirements please visit Penn State University's full resource for International Applicants.
