The event was held in support of the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), which benefits the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the fight against pediatric cancer.

Charles Cantalupo, Distinguished Professor of English, comparative literature and African studies, spent years traveling to and researching the cities where one of America’s all-time greatest writers, Edgar Allan Poe, lived throughout his life. On June 4, he performed for the first time the entire sequence of his poems on where Poe lived, called “Poe in Place.”

Writing about each of these cities - including Baltimore, the Bronx, Philadelphia and Richmond - Cantalupo juxtaposes how they appeared in Poe's time and now. The poems also closely focus on any evidence of Poe that still remains in each place, including excerpts from his writing when he lived there.
Robert Stickloon, instructor in art at Penn State Schuylkill, will have two pieces of his work displayed at the 48th Annual Art of the State® juried competition. The opening of the event will be held June 28 at the State Museum of Pennsylvania which is recognized as the official, statewide juried competition for Pennsylvania artists. This year's show includes 127 pieces from 123 artists that jurors selected from five categories: Craft, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Work on Paper.
Five longtime Penn State champions and benefactors will be recognized by the Penn State Alumni Association and named honorary alumni at an event in early June at The Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.
Albert L. Evans, Jr. was awarded the Honorary Alumni Award at a celebration held June 5 and 6 at the University Park campus of Penn State.
The Penn State Alumni Association has granted the Honorary Alumni Award since 1973 to recognize individuals who, while not graduates of Penn State, have significantly worked toward bettering the University. Since the award was established, more than 100 individuals have been granted Honorary Alumni status.
On April 28, Penn State Schuylkill senior softball player, Jena Leffler, was named Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Student-Athlete of the Week. Leffler hit .412 (7-17) with three doubles and five RBI's. She also scored ten runs, drew five walks, and stole two bases.
Leffler, a shortstop, became Penn State Schuylkill's All-time hits leader with 103 hits on April 26, 2015 versus Valley Forge University, breaking the record formerly held by Jessica Klotunowitch in 2008.
