Unizin Engage pilot helps students with textbook affordability

Several campuses across Penn State have participated in a pilot that tackles the age-old problem of how to make textbooks more affordable and also helps students become more successful in the classroom. During the past fall and current spring semesters, faculty at the Penn State Worthington Scranton, Schuylkill and Mont Alto campuses have utilized the e-text platform called Unizin Engage, and it has the potential to transform the future of affordable content at Penn State.

Ken Schoener creates Open Doors scholarship; expands memorial scholarship

Penn State alumnus Ken Schoener recently created a new Open Doors Scholarship with a gift of $30,000, which the University will match 2:1 through the Open Doors Scholarship Program. He also made an estate commitment to give another $125,000 to the University for the Dorothy L. Schoener Memorial Scholarship he established in 2000.

Penn State Schuylkill’s LionLaunch Business Plan Competition slated for March 15

Penn State Schuylkill's LionLaunch Business Plan Competition is slated to occur March 15. This event allows local and campus community members to pitch their business ideas for a chance to win up to $5,000 in seed money. This project is made possible by Invent Penn State, a University-wide initiative that aims to foster entrepreneurial growth within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
