The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Post-Primary Certification course fulfills the requirements set forth by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The course intends to help participants achieve their goal of successfully passing the MRI registry and provide a strong foundation to excel in the field. This course is offered to participants who have earned an associate degree in radiological sciences or have a post-primary certification. 

> Register for Clinical I by July 15 and Theory I by August 8. 

Program Overview

The MRI Post-Primary Certification program takes place over the fall and spring semesters. Throughout both semesters students will complete coursework online with a facilitator, as well as a minimum of 16 hours of on-site clinical training in a health care facility each week. Following the successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to sit for the ARRT Certification. 

MRI Post-Primary Theory I & II

These courses provide the technologist with the theory and structured education requirements to apply for ARRT certification and registration under the post-primary eligibility pathway for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Theory I will be taken in the fall semester and Theory II will be taken in the spring semester.

MRI Post-Primary Clinical I & II

These courses provide the technologist with supervised clinical experience to apply for ARRT certification and registration under the post-primary eligibility pathway for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The ARRT clinical experience for Magnetic Resonance Imaging will guide the clinical experience. Instruction will emphasize screening and safety, pathology, imaging protocols and procedures, image evaluation, quality control, patient care and contrast media use and preparation explicit to MRI scanning. Clinical I will be taken in the fall semester and Clinical II will be taken in the spring semester.

Clinical sites are available in PA: Coaldale, Hazleton, Lebanon, Lehighton, Orwigsburg, and Pottsville. If you are outside of these areas, please contact us and we will look into possible sites in your area of Pennsylvania.

Course details

Investment: $3,000 ($750 each for Clinical I, Clinical II, Theory I, and Theory II). Participants are responsible all fees associated with obtaining pre-clinical requirements.
