Registrar announcement made regarding policy changes

In the fall of 2010, the Office of the University Registrar released new functionality for students and parents in eLion. With the consent of their student, parents may view their student's course schedule and grades via the eLion Parent/Other menu. Set-up is simple and instructions were included in announcements which were shared widely in September.

Conference keynote at Penn State Schuylkill open to the public

The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), Central Pennsylvania Section will hold its spring workshop at Penn State Schuylkill on Friday, March 11. This workshop will be a sharing of methods and ideas for physics or physical science teachers of all experience levels. It will focus on how we can use the idea of an engineering project to learn basic physics concepts.

Feb. 22 marked the date that Penn State was founded in 1855 as a publicly supported agricultural college. In 1863, Penn State was designated as Pennsylvania's land-grant college -- a distinction that only Penn State holds and a designation that created a university to educate large segments of society that had not yet been served by higher education.

Penn State to conduct test of PSUTXT system February 23rd

Just as the Emergency Broadcast System periodically runs tests on radio and television stations, Penn State plans to test the PSUTXT text-messaging system to help ensure its functionality in a true emergency. At 1 p.m. on Feb. 23, PSUTXT administrators from each campus will log into the system and send a message that will be marked clearly as a test. "Testing the system like this does a number of things," explained Annemarie Mountz, assistant director of Public Information.

Spring 2011 Classes Begin

The spring semester gets under way on Monday, Jan. 10, at Penn State Schuylkill. The Nittany Apartments open on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11:00 am for students living on-campus. Registration ends Jan. 9, however, late registration runs until Jan. 19. There are no classes on Monday, Jan. 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Spring break is March 7-11.

Fall 2010 Commencement Speakers Announced

Penn State Schuylkill will be holding Fall 2010 graduation on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium, Lower Level of the Health and Wellness Building.  Steven and Marjorie Cotler will be the keynote speakers.
