Spring 2011 Classes Begin

The spring semester gets under way on Monday, Jan. 10, at Penn State Schuylkill. The Nittany Apartments open on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11:00 am for students living on-campus. Registration ends Jan. 9, however, late registration runs until Jan. 19. There are no classes on Monday, Jan. 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Spring break is March 7-11.

Fall 2010 Commencement Speakers Announced

Penn State Schuylkill will be holding Fall 2010 graduation on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium, Lower Level of the Health and Wellness Building.  Steven and Marjorie Cotler will be the keynote speakers.

Course Watch List Implemented in eLion

The Office of the University Registrar at Penn State has announced the implementation of a course watch list in eLion. This application will provide students with the opportunity to be notified when a seat opens in a full section of a course. Students will indicate the course sections they wish to watch and may be notified of an open seat via a Penn State e-mail account and/or a text message to a mobile phone.

Reminder: Sign up for PSUTXT for emergency information

There's a quick and simple way to inform everyone on campus of an emergency. Penn State Schuylkill encourages students, faculty and staff to enroll in PSUTXT, an easy and accessible system that lets them know via cell phone when classes are canceled due to weather conditions or if the campus has an emergency situation. Sign up now for PSUTXT and, when necessary, Penn State Schuylkill will send a text message alert directly to your cell phone and/or e-mail account.

Professors develop animated learning modules for computer course

Jeffrey Stone, instructor of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at Penn State Schuylkill, and Tricia Clark, instructional designer and instructor of IST at Penn State Berks, have developed a set of animated learning modules designed to help first-year students succeed in the CMPSC 101 and CMPSC 121 courses at Penn State Schuylkill.
