Rose Baker, co-chair-elect of Penn State's Commission for Women, has announced that Barbara Kaunas, administrative support assistant at Penn State Schuylkill, has been selected as the winner of the Achieving Women Award in the staff non-exempt category. Each year, the Commission for Women honors women who have shown notable leadership and are accomplished in their fields, have supported the University's diversity efforts and promoted equal opportunity, and/or have contributed to human causes and public service activities.
Kaunas is being recognized for her contributions to both women and Penn State.
She will be honored, with six other award winners, at a University-wide luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on the University Park campus.
