Spring 2011 Commencement Speaker Announced

Penn State Schuylkill will be holding graduation on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 am on the Campus Green. John Hillkirk, the Editor at USA TODAY will be the keynote Speaker.  In case of inclement weather the commencement ceremonies will be held in the gymnasium.

Shroud Encounter will be coming to Penn State Schuylkill

Shroud Encounter will be coming to Penn State University—Schuykill Campus on Wednesday, April 20th, at 7:00 PM. This highly acclaimed 90-minute multi-media presentation will be held at the Morgan Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. Shroud Encounter is a production of Shroud of Turin Education Project, Inc. and will be presented by renowned international expert Russ Breault. The presentation is a fast moving, big-screen experience using over 150 images covering all aspects of Shroud research.

Don't Text and Drive Presentation to be held at Penn State Schuylkill

We have all heard the slogan in regards to not drinking and driving, but did you know that texting and driving is just as serious? According to the National Safety Council, approximately 23 percent of all crashes - or 1.2 million crashes - each year are caused by drivers using their handheld or hands-free cell phones and texting while driving. This is much greater than the number of crashes caused by any other distraction

Earth Day Presentation on Energy Sustainability by Dr Wes Grebski

On April 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm the Biology and Environmental Club and Penn State Schuylkill will sponsor Dr. Wes Grebski, Associate Professor of Engineering at Penn State Hazleton in honor of Earth Day.  Dr. Grebski's presentation "Energy Sustainability" is free and open to the public and will be held in the Morgan Auditorium in the Student Community Center.

Penn State Schuylkill students donate to Salvation Army

Penn State Schuylkill students recently donated unwanted items (1/2 of a large truck) to the Salvation Army, during the week of May 2-6. The students, who were living in the on-campus Nittany Apartments left there unwanted items in the community room of Nittany V as they departed on their summer break. New Penn State Video Learning Network expands to 16 campuses

By July, 16 Penn State campuses will have new high-technology classrooms equipped with identical high-definition video conferencing technologies that will enable faculty and students in up to four locations to participate in the same course at the same time. The classrooms are part of Penn State's new Video Learning Network (VLN). The goal of this network is to help Pennsylvania adults acquire the knowledge and skills they need for today's jobs -- which often require college degrees or specialized training -- conveniently at a Penn State campus close to home.
