CareerBeam is a full service career development portal designed to guide individuals a strategic job search process. Getting Started:
- Visit the CareerBeam page.
- On the upper right side, click on Create Account - please use your Penn State email address
- Click on Where Do I Start (middle of the page, on the left)
Available to currently enrolled Penn State students and faculty/staff. Please use your Penn State email to create an account. This incorporates CareerSearch access to help you research 60 million companies, 70 million industry contacts, in-depth industry profiles, detailed occupational intelligence, and firms in over 170 countries.
Glassdoor is a job and recruiting site where current and former employees contribute content including company reviews, industry salary information and other career-related topics.
This networking and mentorship program matches Penn State Alumni Association members with students for an informal exchange of information related to careers and more. Students may browse through the community of professionals by major, industry, or location, to identify an alumni who can help answer career questions.
LinkedIn is an online social network for business professionals. It is a great place to establish your professional identity, build your professional network, and find career opportunities.

Another useful method of locating an internship or employment opportunity is searching the internet. Many internship listings can be located by simply entering the word "internships" in a search engine page. The Career Services office recommends, and strongly encourages students to register on College Central Network. Here students and alumni can search for jobs and post their résumés.
