Biography
Lisa Robinson has been a member of the Penn State Schuylkill community since 2016. She began her career at Penn State as an adjunct instructor and transitioned to full-time faculty in 2018, teaching for both the Schuylkill Campus and Penn State World Campus.
She earned her Bachelor in Marketing from Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Alvernia University, where she graduated with high honors. During her graduate studies, she served as Vice President of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society.
Prior to joining the faculty, Lisa gained extensive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector as Executive Director of the Walk In Art Center. In this role, she significantly expanded the organization’s impact, tripling both revenue and the scope of educational programs and community events offered to artists and residents.
Community engagement and service remain central to Lisa’s professional and personal mission. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Our Haven Foundation. Her faculty position at Penn State Schuylkill has also enabled her to pursue scholarly work, including a collaboration with fellow faculty member Brian Gardner to develop the Research Faculty Database. This initiative highlights the impactful, interdisciplinary research conducted by Penn State Schuylkill faculty and students—research that advances the University’s land-grant mission to improve lives through discovery and innovation.
Lisa has been an active participant in campus governance, serving multiple years on the Penn State Schuylkill Faculty Senate, including two years as Secretary and one year as Chair. She also served as Tri-Chair of the Future State Integrative Design Initiative, working closely with chancellors, faculty leaders, and community partners to advance strategic priorities for the campus.
A lifelong advocate for the arts, Lisa played a key role in establishing the Art Space gallery on the Schuylkill Campus, where she currently serves as Co-Chair. Drawing on her nonprofit arts administration background, she created the Schuylkill Emerging Visions Program, a juried exhibition that provides local high school artists from Schuylkill County the opportunity to showcase their work on campus.
Lisa serves as the Faculty Adviser for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate chapter at Penn State Schuylkill. Under her guidance, students participate and win annually at the FBLA State Leadership Conference, with winners advancing to represent Penn State Schuylkill at the National Leadership Conference held each year in different locations across the United States. She works closely with business students to strengthen the organization, expand professional networking opportunities, support fundraising efforts, and deepen students’ understanding of nonprofit leadership and community impact.
Born and raised in Schuylkill County, Lisa Robinson is married to Guy Robinson and is the proud mother of two children, Guy Jr. and Madeline.
