Advanced Degree and Certification Options

Penn State Schuylkill Radiological Students have many options for building onto their education following completion of the A.S. Below are suggested pathways for a one-year MRI certification program, as well as bachelor's degree options in health services and applied health.

MRI Post-Primary Certification

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Post-Primary Certification course helps participants achieve their goal of successfully passing the MRI registry, providing a strong foundation to excel in the field. This course is offered to participants who have earned an associate degree in radiological sciences or have a post-primary certification, and it fulfills the requirements set forth by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Students will attend the program over the fall and spring semesters, completing coursework online with a facilitator, as well as 16 hours of on-site clinical training in a health care facility each week. Following the successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to sit for the ARRT Certification.
