NEW KESINGTON, Pa. — "From Concept to Creation: Uncovering the Making of Scholarly and Creative Accomplishments" is a podcast co-hosted by Jen Jarson, head librarian at Penn State Lehigh Valley and interim head librarian at Penn State Schuylkill, and Kate Morgan, instructional designer with Penn State World Campus Learning Design. The series explores the research process, highlighting not just outcomes but also the challenges, discoveries, and personal growth experienced by Penn State students, faculty and staff.
“'From Concept to Creation' is about making research accessible by pulling back the curtain on the research paths and processes that are so often opaque and confusing,” Jarson said. “At the same time, our podcast is also challenging stereotypes related to research. Our guests show how fun it is to be curious, and how normal it is to encounter challenges and roadblocks in this kind of work.”
The final episode of season three features Elizabeth Schachte, a Penn State New Kensington graduate and current research coordinator, showcasing the campus’ role in supporting research, student development and alumni success.
“From her time as a biobehavioral health student in the honors program, to her work with the National Health Corps, to her return to Penn State New Kensington as a research coordinator, Elizabeth has embraced research as a way of understanding the world and finding her purpose,” Jarson said.
The podcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Listeners are encouraged to contact Jarson and Morgan to share their research stories and learn more.
