Multidisciplinary Studies

The objectives of the Multidisciplinary Studies associate degree program are to broaden the student's understanding, interests, and skills while helping the student become a more responsible, productive member of his/her family and community.

The program allows students to choose a number of electives that help create specialization according to their interests or career plans. Students will benefit from study in communications, mathematics, and general education courses in arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and science.

Continued Education

The program is a complete two-year degree major; however, graduates who later seek admission to baccalaureate degree majors may apply credits earned toward the additional degree. Programs like the bachelor's degree in Psychology at Penn State Schuylkill can be started immediately after completing the Letters, Arts, and Sciences program. It is highly recommended that students discuss this option with their academic adviser.
