Each fall, the Penn State Schuylkill Alumni Society announces the Alumni Award winners for that year. Honorees are selected based upon the impact they have in their communities, outstanding professional achievements, and embodiment of Penn State values. This year’s cohort includes Michael G. Messina (class of 1979), Scott C. Price (class of 1985), and Abigayle Kaiser (class of 2020).

Ronald Kelly, assistant teaching professor and program coordinator of criminal justice at Penn State Schuylkill, has authored an open education resource (OER) textbook focusing on introductory criminal justice concepts. The book will save students as much as $165 on general education-level supplies while catering to various learning styles.

Students in the Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program delivered at Penn State Schuylkill will be the main beneficiaries of the a new 4,000-square-foot nursing suite. The new infrastructure supports the increase in physical space and new state-of-the-art technology, including high-tech nursing classroom equipment and simulation lab, allowing students to extend clinical learning in novel ways.
Despite fielding young lineups, the Penn State Schuylkill women’s fall athletic teams racked up impressive performances on the way to the final PSUAC championship rounds, with team members earning PSUAC All-Conference honors, including the soccer team sweeping all top categories.
