Penn State alumna Helene Zuber Slocum and her husband, Jeff Slocum, recently established Penn State Schuylkill's Zuber Slocum Academic Success Program, which focuses on first-year students, helping them to explore their learning styles, develop study strategies and receive one-on-one coaching from peer academic coaches.

Penn State Schuylkill students presented original research at the campus’s biannual Student Research and Scholarship Conference on Nov. 30. Sixteen students from a variety of disciplines presented topics that ranged from a virtual reality experience to improve understanding of electric fields, to synthesis of chemical compounds to discover novel treatments for disease, and examination of important cultural and societal issues.
