About the artist:
Recently described as working in the folk tradition of Frank Wysochansky (“Wyso”) and Jack Savitsky, McCormick continues to use paint to reflect what he’s witnessed throughout his upbringing in the Anthracite Region. From childhood memories of his family’s early years in Big Mine Run (a Schuylkill County “Patchtown”) to scenes that surround him on the farmland where he now resides, to imagined vistas that seek to capture his understanding of the social and cultural evolution we are currently experiencing, McCormick’s Modern Primitive paintings make use of acrylic, oil, watercolor, found materials, and collage.
