Los Angeles Studio Musician To Present Concerts at Penn State Schuylkill

Pianist and keyboard specialist Gary Nesteruk, a leading Los Angeles studio musician for more than twenty five years, will be appearing in concert at The Pennsylvania State University Schuylkill Campus on Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 PM.  Nesteruk will also present a lunchtime lecture and performance on April 29 at 11:45 A.M.  Both performances will take place in the Morgan Auditorium on the Penn State Schuylkill Campus.

Both performances are FREE and open to the public.

As a studio musician, Mr. Nesteruk has performed on over 100 films, television shows, movies and soundtracks, including HBO specials Norma Jean and Marilyn, The Fatherland and Trauma, and the Cinemax production Love Songs.  His credits in theatrical films include Rounders, The Island of Dr. Moreau, Species, Tales from the Hood, Murder at 1600, A Nightmare on Elm Street II, The Core, Runaway Jury, Something's Gotta Give, Beauty Shop, Spiderman II and many others.  Mr. Nesteruk's TV credits include Twilight Zone, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Frank's Place and the NBC Move of the Week Brave New World.

As a highly sought after accompanist in Hollywood, Mr. Nesteruk has performed and/or recorded with Jean Stapleton, Patrick Swayze, Raquel Welch, Anthony Newley, Carol Channing, Angel Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, Rita Moreno and others.  In addition, Mr. Nesteruk frequently tours with recording artist Roger Williams.  As an actor, Mr. Nesteruk made a memorable cameo appearance during the dramatic conclusion of last year's box-office hit Get Smart.

A native of Pittsburgh, Nesteruk, received his B.S. in Music Education and M.A. in Music Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

For the April 29 Penn State Schuylkill performances, Mr. Nesteruk will be assisted by Philadelphia jazz great John Swana on trumpet, Paul Gehman (also of Philadelphia) on bass and Paul Miller on drums.
