Schuylkill hosts Black History Month events

In observance of African-American History Month, Penn State Schuylkill will host a variety of events and programs throughout the month of February: 

Tues. Feb. 2 - MOVIE NIGHT: Higher Learning at 9:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.

Wed. Feb. 3 - GAME SHOW: Challenge (featuring some questions from Black History) at 9:00 p.m. in HWC 201.

Thurs. Feb. 4 - TRIPS: Incognito - only 5 seats left! Sign up in HWC 209. Van leaves in front of Nittany II at 4:45 to go se this show at Reading Area Community College. This show is the true story of a man who was born and raised Caucasian, but finds out in college that he is actually Black. The performance is put on by the man in question and it is an intriguing performance.

Wed. Feb. 17 - NOVELTY: Photo Ops with people from Black history 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Student Community Center.

Thurs. Feb. 18 - CULTURAL EVENT SERIES: Jay Summerour & Memphis Gold at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. They will be performing Piedmont Blues.  This event is open to the public.

Tues. Feb. 23 - TRIPS: Black Violin Sign ups begin on Monday, Feb. 16 for this show. This is limited to the first 14 students to sign up. The van leaves at 6:45 p.m. to see this show at Alvernia University. Check them out here: http://blackviolin.net/

Thurs. Feb. 25 - MIDDAY MUSIC: Venice Maki at Noon in the Hidden Stream Cafe. You can check Venice out here: www.myspace.com/venicemaki
