Dubreuil named director of student affairs and engagement

Penn State Schuylkill has appointed Thomas R. Dubreuil as director of student affairs and engagement, effective August 26, 2013.

As director of student affairs and engagement, Dubreuil will oversee campus residence life, health services, student counseling services, athletics, intramural and recreation sports, student government, student activities, student conduct, and campus climate. He will serve as a key member of the campus senior leadership team. In this role, he will work with others on campus to foster a climate of engagement and collaboration within the campus community as well as the local community.

Dubreuil comes to Penn State Schuylkill with more than twenty years of experience in student affairs. Most recently, he served as dean of students at Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa.  At Moravian College, he was responsible for providing leadership for student life programs to enhance educational opportunities both in and out of the classroom, while promoting a values-centered approach. Prior to his position at Moravian, he served as associate dean of students at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa. While at Lehigh University, he was responsible for several areas of student life including student activities, Greek life and student conduct. At both Moravian and Lehigh, he was involved with strategic planning providing the framework to take student affairs to new levels of excellence at each institution.  Dubreuil holds a bachelor of arts degree from Middlebury College and a master's degree from the University of Connecticut.

Dubreuil sees the position of director of student affairs and engagement at Penn State Schuylkill as "a wonderful opportunity to work with students, faculty, and staff to provide students with a climate that promotes growth and student engagement." He brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the position.
