Throughout the fall 2013 Semester, the students in Dr. Valerie Schrader's Small Group Communication class (CAS 250) have been collecting items for the Hillside SPCA in Pottsville, PA. The collection drive was entirely organized and conducted by the seven students in the course: Philip Bunn, Michael Bunner, Christopher Gamble, Tarnisha Hood, Elexa Mabry, Joshua Price, and Scott Rarick.
The campus's University Relations department assisted the class by promoting their drive on the Penn State Schuylkill Facebook and Twitter accounts, and the campus webpage.
The class collected over 130 items for the local shelter, including pet food, cleaning supplies, flea treatments, and pet toys. The students and Dr. Schrader would like to thank everyone who donated to the drive for their help in making the holiday season a little brighter for the animals at the Hillside SPCA.
