According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky, two voice messages were left overnight on the Schuylkill County courthouse telephone system. The messages, left by a male voice, warned that, if the courthouse is not evacuated by noon Friday, there would be violence against a school.
The courthouse was closed for safety reasons and we at Penn State Schuylkill are bringing in extra police officers for additional support and monitoring.
Although the threat so far has proven to be unfounded, people need to make decisions that are best for themselves about remaining at work and in class.
