Gina Whalen, the faculty director for the online bachelor's in business from World Campus, and Ron Kelly, an assistant teaching professor of criminal justice at Penn State Schuylkill, led the students on the trip to Denmark.
World Campus students and students from the Schuylkill campus got to learn together and interact with other during the weeklong trip. “I started this trip with strangers and left with friends I felt like I had known my entire life," one student said.

Penn State business students said their course work in global leadership this semester and an immersive trip to Denmark have deepened their understanding of what it takes to navigate different cultures.
Stephan Spolski, who will graduate this spring, transferred to Penn State Schuylkill seeking a supportive and engaging environment — and found exactly that. He immersed himself in academics and campus life, serving as a tutor, mentor, lab assistant and student leader in multiple clubs. His biology major was inspired by personal experiences with orthopedic surgery, leading him to conduct research and shadow orthopedic physicians.
Penn State Sustainability has announced the 2025 recipients of its sustainability awards. These accolades, including the John Roe Sustainability Impact Award, the Student Sustainability Advisory Council Tree Award and the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium Campus Sustainability Champion Award, commend the extraordinary contributions of students in spearheading sustainability initiatives.
