Penn State Schuylkill celebrated the kick-off of the new University-wide fundraising campaign with honored guests at the Blue and White Dinner, held Oct. 20 at the Schuylkill Country Club, Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania.
An exciting new program that launched this fall at Penn State Schuylkill has been full of opportunities for first-year students to engage and connect, both academically and socially, with the campus and surrounding communities.
Penn State Schuylkill has launched the Penn State Homework Hotline, a free tutoring service to students in participating local school districts. Students in grades six to 12 with questions about math homework or concepts can call and speak to a college student who is trained to tutor math and has acquired all of the required clearances to work with children.
The community garden at Penn State Schuylkill recently received its certification from the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners as a Pollinator Friendly Garden.
In order for a garden to become certified as pollinator-friendly, gardeners must provide potential pollinators with the proper food, water, and shelter.
