Michael Cardamone, former physics professor at Penn State Schuylkill, and his wife, Barbara, both Penn State alumni, have established the Dr. Michael and Barbara Cardamone Renaissance Scholarship, which will benefit high-achieving students with the greatest financial need.
Cory Scherer, assistant director of academic affairs, program coordinator for psychology, and associate professor of psychology at Penn State Schuylkill, has been named interim director of academic affairs at the Schuylkill campus, effective July 1. Scherer has been serving as assistant director of academic affairs since his appointment to the position in July 2017.
Penn State alumnus Ken Schoener recently created a new Open Doors Scholarship with a gift of $30,000, which the University will match 2:1 through the Open Doors Scholarship Program. He also made an estate commitment to give another $125,000 to the University for the Dorothy L. Schoener Memorial Scholarship he established in 2000.

Kelly M. Austin, chancellor at Penn State Schuylkill, has been named associate vice president for administration in the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, the University announced today (June 21). Austin will begin serving as associate vice president effective Aug. 1.
