Samantha grew up in Reading, PA. While living less than a mile from the city, she attended a rural public school where she graduated in 2008. After beginning college at Penn State Berks determined to earn degrees in both communications and political science, she changed majors and colleges after watching newspapers shrink from week to week.
Samantha earned her B.F.A. in Motion Pictures and Television from the Academy of Art University located in San Francisco, CA. She completed several internships and fostered a close working relationship with a local, non-profit television station: Berks Community Television. The television station sparked her passion for community and economic development, which is her current master's program. As a technician, she aired local government town halls, election returns, political debates, and more. She also worked closely with several community-based non-profit organizations, assisting community conversation and promoting community growth.
While working part-time (and even on an occasional volunteer basis) for the television station, Samantha also worked as a marketing assistant for Pennsylvania's oldest microbrewery: Stoudt's Brewing Company. Located in rural Lancaster County, Samantha organized sell-out events, booked bands and other entertainment, and managed several ad campaign projects promoting the small brewery and its affiliates: an antiques mall, a brewpub and a bakery.
After life whisked her to Schuylkill County, she began working at Penn State Schuylkill in September 2016. She now resides in Pottsville, PA with her fiancé, a brewer at Yuengling Brewery, and her two cats, Jeff and Maude.
