The Penn State Schuylkill co-ed cheerleading squad will be conducting try-outs for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Practice dates are September 19th, 10am-Noon and September 20th, 10am to 1pm and will be held in the main gym. Applicants are required to attend both days of practice and you will be required to fill out a medical release form.
University Park, Pa. — Students who expected to receive a Pennsylvania state grant administered through the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will have their Penn State fall semester tuition bills credited for the estimated grant amount.
PHEAA normally issues grants in August, but is dependent on an authorized state appropriation to do so. With no comprehensive state budget to date and the fall semester rapidly approaching, it seems less and less likely that those funds will be available for the start of the academic year.
Michael Dean Ester graduated from Dickinson College (PA) with a bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts and a butt-load of student loans to repay. Even so, this former Campus Activities board executive took off his cap and gown and grabbed a microphone, inspired by his role as a comedy chairperson to become his generation's foremost college-oriented comedian. He has always believed in the power of a well-planned dream.
Mohammed Amer is a forthcoming brilliant personality in the world of Comedy. Originally a Palestinian, Mohammed fled his birth country of Kuwait during the Persian Gulf War while he was 9 years old. His family eventually settled in Houston, Texas. Mohammad's family was persuaded that he was going to become a Doctor; however destiny had a different plan.

Meika Pauley was born in Boston and raised in Kentucky, Colorado, and South Florida. School brought her back to Boston where she makes her home. She started singing as a child and studied classical voice and piano. In high school she sang in alternative rock garage bands and Motown funk bands and in jazz, classical, and church choirs.
On Tuesday, September 23rd, Penn State President Graham B. Spanier, along with Chancellor R. Keith Hillkirk and SGA President Jarret Robinson served students, faculty, staff, administration and guests of the campus, cake and ice cream on the campus green. The celebration was held as a kickoff of a years' worth of activites that have been planned in honor of the campus' 75th anniversary.
Elinor Madigan, assistant professor of information sciences and technology at Penn State Schuylkill and a professional associate of management development, has been awarded a grant from Amazon Web Service (AWS). The grant will be used in her IST 421 class -- "Advanced Enterprise Integration: Technologies and Applications" -- and will allow students to access AWS's infrastructure Web service platform in the cloud.

WPSU, Penn State's public broadcasting station, announced Monday (Sept. 28) that it has earned two 2009 Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for shows "Making the Blue Band" and "Cook Like a Chef." These regional awards recognize local productions for excellence in television programming.
