Schuylkill hosts Black History Month events

In observance of African-American History Month, Penn State Schuylkill will host a variety of events and programs throughout the month of February:  Tues. Feb. 2 - MOVIE NIGHT: Higher Learning at 9:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. Wed. Feb. 3 - GAME SHOW: Challenge (featuring some questions from Black History) at 9:00 p.m. in HWC 201.

Spring 2010 Commencement Speaker Announced

Penn State Schuylkill will be holding graduation on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 am on the Campus Green.  Amilcar Arroyo, Editor, "El Mensajero" Newspaper will be the keynote Speaker.  In case of inclement weather the commencement ceremonies will be held in the gymnasium.

Satellite has found 500 of the biggest explosions in the universe

NASA's Swift satellite, whose science and flight operations are controlled from Penn State's Mission Operations Center in State College, Pa., has detected its 500th gamma-ray burst -- a type of explosion that is the biggest and most mysterious in the cosmos. Swift's X-ray telescope and ultraviolet/optical telescope were developed and built by international teams led by Penn State.
