How it works
Penn State Schuylkill's Dual Enrollment Majors are open to high school seniors and run the duration of the school year. Beginning in the fall, participants attend classes at Penn State Schuylkill during a portion of their regular school day. Upon completing their Penn State classes for the day, students return to their respective high schools. Students provide their own transportation to and from Penn State Schuylkill.
Time on campus includes built-in prep time before courses begin. Students also take part in weekly guest lectures with subject matter experts, including Penn State faculty members and local professionals, who take a deep dive into the chosen area of study. The coursework, guest lectures, and hands-on experience in each Dual Enrollment subject area provide students the core competencies they need to pursue a degree in their field.

Dual enrollment students receive course grades that are added to an official college transcript, as opposed to an AP course that uses a standardized exam to dictate the credit being awarded.
