Welcome to Penn State Schuylkill. Whether this is your first time viewing our website or you are a frequent visitor, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your interest in our vibrant community. As one of the oldest Commonwealth campuses of Penn State, we are proud to offer a personalized education in an intimate setting with all of the benefits of a world-class public research university.

Our faculty and staff are fully committed to providing an exceptional student experience. You probably hear this often if you are in the college search process, but let me explain what we mean when we when we say this. Students here don’t just have a different experience, they have a special experience—an education that prepares them for success in the workplace, lives as active and contributing citizens, and a passion for lifelong learning.

Excellence. We strive for excellence in all of our endeavors. As a student-centered campus, our mission statement focuses on providing the academic opportunities of an internationally recognized major research university. Excellence is also a hallmark of our wide array of innovative programming to meet the varying needs of our amazing students both inside and outside of the classroom.

At the Schuylkill campus, we integrate teaching, research and service to benefit our region and beyond. As an institution of higher learning, we partner with numerous community organizations that underscore our commitment to improving the lives of others, contributing to the economic development of the region, and preparing our students to soar in their careers. Our students, through their internships, classes, clubs and organizations, demonstrate their desire to act as a positive force in the lives of others and make genuine contributions to the betterment of society.

Yes, we seek lofty goals, but here we are down to earth. We value all of the voices of our community and believe that it is an honor and a privilege to provide our students with a rich and diverse experience that will serve them well as they advance in their careers, face and help resolve the challenges of the 21st century, and strengthen the communities in and around where they live.

To our alumni, members of our community and our future alumni: “For the Glory of old State,” we are proud to follow in the footsteps of those who came before us and established the long-standing tradition of excellence at Penn State.

Sincerely,

Darcy Medica
