Ken Schoener creates Open Doors scholarship; expands memorial scholarship

Penn State alumnus Ken Schoener recently created a new Open Doors Scholarship with a gift of $30,000, which the University will match 2:1 through the Open Doors Scholarship Program. He also made an estate commitment to give another $125,000 to the University for the Dorothy L. Schoener Memorial Scholarship he established in 2000.

Schuylkill students visit capitol, rally for high stakes issues

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. — Annually, Penn State students, alumni, faculty and staff descend on Pennsylvania’s capitol building for Capital Day. They advocate passionately for funds that will lend the University leverage to lower tuition costs for in-state students, increase opportunities for groundbreaking research, and ultimately stimulate the Commonwealth’s economy.
