Want to avoid the summer slide? Keep your student growing academically and socially in the summer with Penn State Schuylkill's summer youth programming.

Penn State Schuylkill’s Kid’s College offers students a fun-filled approach to academic learning during the summer months.  We offer summer camps for elementary and middle school aged students.

Grades listed indicate the grade the student will be entering in the fall. Sport camps are divided by age.

With so many great camps, we're very excited to offer this program in 2017!

Innovation and Technology
Are you looking for a fun and engaging technology camp for your child this summer? Campers will have the opportunity to interact with our University library's 3D printing and scanning technology and will even deconstruct and reassemble a PC! By the end of this week, your student will have explored the various technological assets of Penn State Schuylkill while interacting and learning from experts.

Each day, students will be challenged to think broadly about the five senses – sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. Through experiences facilitated by various members of the Penn State Schuylkill community, campers will perform experiments in our biological and science laboratories, work collaboratively with peers, explore Penn State Schuylkill’s campus and surrounding wildlife and much more.

Morning Camp

Wizzarding
Witches, wizards, and magical beasts, oh my! Come join us in exploring the magical world created by J.K. Rowling in her Harry Potter novels! Campers will enjoy a Sorting Ceremony, funneling into the houses of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin or Hufflepuff. Wand making, Herbology, Quidditch, writing your very own articles in the "Quibbler," and for the Daily Prophet are just a few of the activities that you will experience throughout the week. Together, we will take a look at the literature and mythology that exists throughout the novels. We will offer Potions classes, Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, Care of Magical Creatures and even Flying courses! Campers will participate in many activities that may expand and enhance their knowledge of and love for the books. This camp focuses on:

  • Analyzing Harry Potter's literature and mythology
  • Participating in hands-on group activities to foster collaborative work and learning
  • Developing creativity, logic skills, critical thinking and self-expression through discussions, drama, crafts, and games

Campers are also encouraged to dress as their favorite character during the camp!
