Penn State Schuylkill will be holding graduation on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10 am on the Campus Green.. John Bertolet, Jr. president of J. Bertolet Volkswagen will be the keynote speaker.
John(Jack) R. Bertolet Jr. is the president of J. Bertolet Volkswagen, Orwigsburg, a family-owned and operated business that was started by his father 45 years ago.
A proud family man, Jack is dedicated to maintaining his father's passion for life, faith in his fellow man, ability to work hard, and above all, his deep love for his family and friends.
That dedication is evident in everything Jack has accomplished throughout his life, including currently serving as president of the Schuylkill United Way, president of the VW Regional Dealer Council, board member of Volkswagen's National Dealer Council and the CCOET.
His previous achievements include being past president of the Schuylkill New Car Dealers Association, a member of his church council, and board member of the MT Penn Soccer Club.
Jack is also passionate about helping others by working with the United Way. That passion led to a hugely successful annual campaign that Jack chaired in 2004, which he credits to the organization that helps make miracles happens by supporting 16 human service agencies throughout Schuylkill County.
A native of Reading, Jack received strong family values from his parents, John(Jack) Sr. and Eleanor, and six siblings. He is a graduate of MT Penn High School, Reading and attended Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, before joining the family business in 1973. His dedication to family continued when he married the former Karen Herzog in 1973, with whom he had three children, Kara, John, and Joseph.
When not playing tennis or spending time with his family, Jack can be found proudly romping on the soccer field with his two grandsons, Dylan and Aidan.
